MAC haul: Glittering Winter Collection

Salaams and Salutations Ladies,

UmmAminahHonest and I went to a MAC event in October!! The MAC in Georgetown was buzzing over this new collection. The new collection is M.A.C glittering winter collection.

We 'Oooh'd' and 'Aaaahh'd' with the rest of the ladies that showed up. I picked up a few things. The night was reserved for collection hauls ONLY!! *sad face*

There are a LOT of cupcake shops in DC, as well as cupcake food trucks. Georgetown is good....but there are better.

NYX hauling..sooo pretty.

I'm catching up on posts. In May Cherry Culture had an NYX sale for their birthday. Since my birthday was in May I decided to partake. I mean 40% off...come on now. U know it was calling my name- lol. Anywhoo I really discovered how NICE NYX is. I mean I have a couple of pearl eye shadows..that I don't use (booo on that) but there was MORE to discover.

So in my May haul I purchased two cream blushes, in Glow and Golden. These two are GREAT for summer. For beauties of all shades actually. Glow is a hint of pink and Golden gives you a subtle glow, great for nude days.

Then I purchased these Round Lip Glosses. I've come to adore lip gloss. NYX has really good coverage and it's NOT sticky!!! I now need to pair these lovelies with a nice liner. I'm thinking along the lines of MAC. Maybe I'll try the next time I go to Nordstrom. Aren't they adorable?? As you can see, Honey is my fav. It look great and its sheer.

I also purchased some chrome eye shadows. Look how pretty they are.

In August Cherry Culture had another sale on NYX..sooo because I was really digging the Cream blushes and the Round Lip glosses I decided to pick up some more.

Sooo in this haul I picked up two more cream blushes in Rose Petal and Diva. I truly believe that brown girls CAN wear pinks. I use my Sonia Kashuk foundation brush to apply these..lol.

Since I used up MOST of my Honey I purchased a new one with this latest haul. Since I have a couple of hijabs with pink in them I got the Ballerina Pink and the 24 Karat is sooo sparkly, can't wait to try that one.

I did purchase some NYX Round lip liners and eye liners...I'm not too enthusiastic about those. So they will be no pics of those..lol.

Etsy Haul: Njoi CreationS/ Darcy's Botanicals/Wasijiru

Sorry for the empty posts..lol.

So last month for my birthday I ordered some stuff from Etsy. Now Njoi CreationS is where I purchase my natural hair dressing. Angie has GREAT GREAT customer service. If you want to make that tranition to all things natural in your hair..check her out here.

So because of all the other options of natural hairdressing on Etsy, I decided to try Darcy's Botanicals.
I ordered the Organic Palm Fruit and Cherry Kernal Butter with the Peppermint and Tea tree essential oil added. It came with a sample jar of Curly Coils Curling Jelly. I use the Palm Butter as a hair dressing and moisturiser. I believe that Njoi's is a more TRUE grease. For those who need it. Check out the pics below.

Amina over at Coup de Coeur is always sporting Wasijir's head wraps...so I decided to try some. Now no these pics are not of me...for various reason, but of my kids. They wear them well. I love the vibrant colors and a free flower clip came with the two.

Etsy haul: Njoi Creations

As I've been moving to more natural products I came across Njoi Creations on Etsy. Etsy is a 'kinder/gentler' Ebay. Mostly for persons that make things with their hands. (Its a site that deserves its own post..but that will happen another day)Thanks Amina for 'putting a sista on'..lol.

So Njoi Creations sells a couple of products that I use. One is the Herbal hairdressing ( all natural grease). We all use it. It is great!! Not heavy, will great for the summer time for sure.



The next product is the Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo bar. In the natural hair world, ACV rinses are use to naturally strip your hair of product build up. Amina did a post about ACV here. Check out what she does and how she uses it there. ACV rinses are especially for locks and for those who braid their hair a lot. Since I do the girls hair weekly Big A does tend to have a lot more build up. Its less messy than the liquid ACV. I love it.

Here are the pics of girls hair after using the hairdressing. Now I do mix products. On Little A I use Oyin's Burnt Sugar palmade and on Big A's hair I use Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk (thanks to AMINA!!) and Burnt Sugar on the ends.

I'm really happy with these product choices for my girls hair. Big ups to Njoi Creations...she does great work. If your looking to make that change to more natural products..please check her out. Weekend Promanad ....OYIN handmade!!!

This Saturday UmmAminahHonest and I met up with a fellow Soror of ours and headed to Baltimore for a teeter. So first we teetered to Modest Intentions on Reisterstown Road. We teeted for a while in the modest clothes: abayas, hijabs, hijabs and more hijabs. Geesh..do I have enough...mmmmm NO I don't..LOL.

Then we got my GPS on my new phone working and headed out to OYIN. OYIN has a new store in Baltimore on N. Charles Street. Its opened from 12pm to 7pm. Please note that you have to feed the meets in Baltimore on the weekends ( that sucks!).



So we made it! Since I have an upcoming interview with Jamyla- the mixtress, I will only give a taste of all the pics I took.



Exit the Apple is not only the flagship store for OYIN but also other interests for Pierre and Jamyla. That includes bags, t-shirts, books,and music. These two are all about nurturing your passions. UmmAminahHonest got a boost of energy from these two because they are 'living their dream'.

UmmAminahHonest and our lovely Soror needed product introduction from the OYIN team. Me, being the OYIN honey I am..I picked out what I needed. I use the Burnt Sugar Pomade and Shine and Define on the kids hair. Shine and Define helps with the frizzles and the pomade makes weekly braiding smoother.

Know that right now when you come in the store you walk out with lots of samples. I received samples of Whipped Pudding, Poo Bar and Juices and Berries. I just believe you can never have enough OYIN. Get there early..they open at 12pm. On the 28th they are asking for testimonials from their customers...don't know if I can make it (sad face).

Visiting Oyin was a great experience. NH is now ready to go. He's going to sponsor my next haul of Honey Hemp Condish (the big bottle), Cup of Joe and maybe a T-shirt or book too.

Coastal Scents Haul

I got it!! I got it!! My coastal scents 78 make-up palette!! If you check out YouTube you can see BIG raves about coastal scents. From Mineral make up, to brushes (comparable to MAC without the MAC price tag), to the palette. During December the 88 make up palette was the rave. But I thought to my self..'Do you really need 88 eye shadows?'...so I bought the 78 make up palette. The palette includes: 60 Eye shadows, 12 highlighting and liner shades, 6 blushers, and it's only $21.95!!! Truly a great buy for those who are short on cash but want to venture into shades and blushes.

E.L.F Haul

So Ummie had a E.L.F haul come in. E.L.F stands for : eyes, lips and face. Its a cosmetics company that believes that beauty doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. So for the 'sista on a budget' it's great. Now I can't recommend everything but there are good deals there. It was started buy some guy who actually LEFT a big name cosmetics company.



Everything in this first picture is $1.00 except for the brushes. I would totally recommend the studio line of brushes. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO soft. I have about 4. I don't currently have any MAC brushes to compare but they wash well, they feel great and do a great job. I have the complexion brush, the fan brush, the eye brow C brush and the blending brush. I do have the regular brushes but they are NOT as soft as the studio line.

If you want you try out a liquid liner..I'd say try E.L.F's..its pretty decent. Perfect your technique with a bottle that only costs a $1.00.



Next we have nail polish. For me $1.00 polish..one can't go wrong. I only paint my nails once a month so...I like to use shocking colors. They actually have added some new one so check them out here.



And last but not least I picked out these babies. Sephora Junkie talked about these so I decided to give them a try..I mean $3.00 you can't go wrong. I have YET to use these..hopefully soon.

Show Me What You Got Pretty Lady: Drugstore.com

Asalaamu alaikum all,
I just have to say how much I care for Drugstore.com. It saves me from actually going to the store..and I'd rather NOT go to the store. So I shop here about once a month. They carry everything from make up to natural shampoo, to lotion. Check out my hauls below.



These are two of my four L'Oreal HIP Cream crayons. Perfectionist (on top) and Authentic (on the bottom).



This haul included another (l to r) Evian water spray (good for hydrating the face before flights-TSA approved AND setting your make up),L'Oreal HIP Cream Crayon in Intricate, Nature's Gate Lavender and Aloe shaving gel, and Nature's Gate Moisture Cream with SPF 15 (only use during the day)



My most resent haul is Almay's eye make up remover ( love this...doesn't sting, slighty oily but a good product), Nature's Gate Kids Block 30, Dickenson's witch hazel wipes (LOVE this.. my face is so clean since using them), and the buy 1 get 1 1/2 off with L'Oreal Hip products: Cream crayon in Meticulous and a eye shadow duo.

Now I'm off to see what else I need from drugstore.com.
